Group f.16
Medium offers a way to connect with photography year round through support of Group f.16. Members enjoy opportunities to attend year-round events with artists, receive a limited edition fine print from our Second Sight Award recipient, an invitation to dinner with our Keynote Lecturer, and more. Group f.16 was named in honor of the legendary California photography Group f.64 and is a nod to 2016, the year Medium became a non-profit organization.
Studio visits
We host annual studio visits with guest artists, offered exclusively to members of f.16. These include both regional artists as well as visiting artists from across the United States, and are often timed to coincide with exhibitions, book releases, and other milestones in that artist’s career. Studio visits are a great opportunity to meet artists in their creative space while developing a greater understanding of their work and working processes.
Fine print program
Each year our Second Sight Award recipient creates a unique, special edition print for f.16 members. The print is available nowhere else, and is included with your $500 annual support. As a core part of the Group f.16 experience, the fine prints produced by our Second Sight Award recipient are an exceptional way to build a collection on a budget. Past fine prints include works by Fatemeh Baigmoradi, Leonard Suryajaya, Justyna Badach, Mariel Miranda, and Robert Calafiore. Our 2022 Second Sight Award recipient Amanda Marchand produced a limited edition fine print offered to f.16 supporters, unavailable outside of Medium Photo.
Events year round
A great benefit to supporting Medium as a member of Group f.16 is the opportunity to engage with a creative photo community year round. Our events, interactions with guest artists, dinner with the Keynote Lecturer, and fine print program are only the beginning. The peer connections and communication with Medium offer added incentive to support a grassroots photography non-profit based in San Diego. We look forward to welcoming you to an upcoming f.16 event!
