Studio Visit with Farrah Karapetian

Medium Photo members at the Patron and Group f.16 level will visit the studio of artist and 2021 Medium Festival guest speaker Farrah Karapetian. Her practice uses camera-less technology and performance based work to produce one of a kind, large scale installations and photograms. Garry Winogrand Film Screening at Digital Gym Cinema

Our next film screening highlights the work of Garry Winogrand in the film All Things Are Photographable, highlighting the artist’s lifetime of obsessive image making. After the film we’ll host a talkback with Dr. Kara Felt, the San Diego Museum of Art’s curator of photography. Dr. Felt’s current exhibition Garry Winogrand: Man of the People is open free to the public at SDMA through early January 2025.

Present Tense Artist Talks

Present Tense Artist Talks are an informal, conversational series of four artist presentations moderated by Medium Photo. During each Present Tense Artist Talk, four participating photographers will share up to 20 slides of a singular body of work projected on a large screen in a repeating loop. Submissions for the next quarterly Present Tense Artist Talk are open through Oct. 7.
