"X Marks the Spot"- A brief introduction to the history of Burlesque and my path documenting and performing within the community. This work and it's title reference the sweet spot that burlesque holds in my life artistically- allowing me to play, perform and document all at once.

About Bea Trouble

Britten Traughber (aka Bea Trouble) is known as the "MFA of T&A". Her long term documentary work "The Ecdysiasts" highlights the Burlesque community and includes Oral Histories and portraits from both contemporary performers and Legends of Burlesque. Britten shares her own exploration as both a visual artist and a performer through her work-in progress series "X Marks the Spot", playing with the history of self-portraiture, sex work, and feminist performance.

Location and Event Info

This event takes place in Room V-101 on the 1st floor of San Diego City College located inside the Career Technology Center at 16th and C St., 1081 16th St., San Diego, CA 92101

Street parking is available in the surrounding area. MTS Bus service on line 2 serves this location at the 16th and Broadway stop. Ride sharing and cycling are encouraged.

Access is free and open to the public beginning at 3:40pm.
