The Evolution
of a Photographer

with Will Gibson

Wednesday, April 5 at 7pm Pacific - San Diego City College

This lecture will be a summary or over 40 years of photographic explorations and experiences. Will Gibson will describe the evolution of his photographic journey starting as an Ansel Adams 'clone', learning on the job in his commercial studio, and transitioning to teaching and taking his photography on the road.

He will share the variety of styles and techniques he has explored and discuss his philosophy of trying to reach the viewer in the space of the brain before the realm of words.

This is a FREE event. Registration is required to reserve your spot and receive event reminders.

About Will Gibson

After working in medical research, Will Gibson switched to photography in 1979. Over the next twenty years, he ran his own commercial studio (including a full in-house wet lab and digital services).

He toured the art fair circuit on the east coast for three years before returning to teach photography at Palomar College. He continually explores multiple facets of photography to expand his vision of the world and share those insights with others.

He has produced bodies of work utilizing large format B/W, light painting, long exposures, platinum/palladium printing, focus stacking, intentional defocusing, wet plate collodion, and infrared.
